San Francisco Girls Chorus
Valérie Sainte-Agathe, Music Director and Principal Conductor
with the Golden Gate Men’s Chorus

Join two of the Bay Area’s most recognized and highly regarded performing arts organizations in a performance of a great 20th century choral masterpiece, Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem. The San Francisco Girls Chorus joins for the first time with the Golden Gate Men’s Chorus in this musical tour de force. Duruflé’s own words describe his Requiem as a work which “represents the ideas of Peace, Hope, and Faith. Often intensely dramatic, the work is not a detachment from earthy worries but reflects the agony of man faced with the mystery of his ultimate end. It expresses hope, resignation, . . . translating human feelings before their terrifying, unexplainable, or consoling destiny.”

Enjoy a full program of the Duruflé Requiem, along with works featured by each chorus, including Philip Glass’ Father Death Blues, Vytautas Miškinis’ And Death Shall Have no Dominion, Arvo Pärt’s Peace Upon Jerusalem, Saint-Saëns’ Hymne au Printemps, Claude Debussy’s Invocation, and Darius Milhaud’s Devant sa main nue.

Tickets: $25 general, $40 reserved
