Audrey Chandler, Theory Instructor

Audrey Chandler is a versatile musician and music educator with a passion for music theory. She currently serves as SFGC’s Chorus School Manager, as well as the Theory Instructor at SFGC’s Bayview campus and the Level IV Theory Tutor. She has experience working with age groups ranging from preschool to college students, and has worked with all levels of SFGC in various capacities. Audrey also has experience in conducting, including: as the Assistant Director for SFGC’s Level II; as a two-time Conducting Fellow at SFGC’s Summer Camp; and as a frequent substitute director. Audrey can sometimes be found working production for SFGC, most recently as the Assistant Stage Manager for SFGC’s annual Winter Concert, SFGC at Davies. Additionally, Audrey recently completed an internship with contemporary opera company Opera Parallèle focusing on marketing, development, and artistic departmental work in non-profit arts organizations.

Audrey will graduate with a B.A. in Music from the University of California, Berkeley, in Spring 2024. Her studies at Berkeley encompass a wide range of musical topics, including harmony, counterpoint, the music of the middle ages, Javanese gamelan, Indian classical music, and jazz improvisation. She also plays the carillon in the Campanile and enjoys playing classical piano recreationally. When Audrey isn’t busy working or studying, she enjoys hiking with her dog, reading novels, and roller skating.
